On the eve of Saint Nicholas, the “Fair of Christmas Traditions” was held in Lviv. This is an opportunity to get to know the farmers of the Lviv region and taste or buy products from more than 35 producers.
An extremely wide range of craft products was presented at the fair: cheese, honey, oil, bread, bakery products, dumplings, Christmas cakes, donuts, braids, fruit chips, meat products, organic products, cereals, snacks, lozenges, jams, jams, dry borschts and soups, fried and baked fish, marinated snails and snail roe, marinated ducks with apples for baking and much more.
“Christmas is a time of wonder, full of age-old traditions, which, especially today, are extremely important to preserve. Despite the difficult time, when there is no light, there is no heat, and rockets fly overhead, we have united artistic collectives and collectives that create regional craft products, those who receive tourists at their facilities and received many positive responses from them. We believe that we will definitely be warmed by the warmth of our hearts, and after the victory we will definitely restore tourist flows to the places of local and relocated producers”, – says the deputy head of the regional state administration Oleksandr Kulepin.
Relocated enterprises that are currently operating in the territory of Lviv region also exhibited their products.
“Half a year ago, they relocated from the Kyiv region to the Lviv region and moved to the city of Brody. We make croutons from Ukrainian rye and wheat bread, there are no chemicals in them, only natural spices, sunflower oil, salt. Our products can be purchased in supermarkets and retail stores,” says Taisiya Grigoreva, director of the “Domashny Grinochki” production.
“I would like to express my gratitude to the manufacturers who were able to get to Lviv in such snowy and frosty weather and presented their products to every resident and guest of our city who came to the event. Buying products from a Ukrainian craft producer is patriotic, as well as tasty and useful. We all feel how important it is that everyone does their own thing in the rear for the smooth economy of the country. Every farmer and producer now works tirelessly under any conditions, regardless of war, air raids, power cuts. Everyone must work on their fronts, then we will get closer to Victory faster,” said Tetyana Hetman, Director of the Department of Agro-Industrial Development of Lviv OVA.
“Fair of Christmas Traditions” is a cooperation of tourist-attractive craft producers and culture, because even in such difficult circumstances, we must popularize our cultural traditions both among the residents of Lviv and among the guests of the city.
“Ukrainian Christmas traditions are unique. It is always about love for one’s neighbor, about family warmth and about a miracle. Hearing a festive carol today and having such live meetings with people amid worries is a great luxury that we can afford thanks to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In this fair, we tried to harmoniously combine the spiritual and the material: carols and Christmas greetings, such Christmas attributes as Santa Clauses, Christmas trees, straw spiders, as well as to demonstrate the unique skills of folk craftsmen in various fields. And while the demand for everything Ukrainian is growing wildly in the world, we must work tirelessly in the cultural field and spread our unique traditions,” said the director of the Department for Culture, Nationalities and Religions, Iryna Havryliuk.
Within the framework of the fair, children and adults had the opportunity to attend interesting master classes, in particular to make a Christmas Santa Claus, traditional spiders, a sycamore toy and a Christmas star. In addition, at the fair, an exhibition of shops with several unique exhibits was presented, and the collectives of territorial communities of the Lviv region presented wonderful nativity scenes and carols to the Fair’s visitors.
