For the second time in the Bandinelli Palace at Rynok Square, 2, the Christmas Post Office – the information center of winter holidays in Lviv – has opened.
Last year, this popular location was visited by about 10,000 residents and guests of the city. This year, the holiday post office will operate until January 10 and has already attracted 600 visitors. “People are taking pictures in the mirror with Christmas attributes: a star and a Christmas tree,” – stated in the press release.
The project is organized by the Lviv Tourist Office, which immerses visitors in the history of correspondence that began here over 365 years ago. Italian Roberto Bandinelli initiated the first Ukrainian post office in this very house in 1629.
Today, after the restoration of the building, which was once bookshop of Karol Wild and a museum, the Christmas Post Office has revived the tradition of sending warm words on paper around the world. Letters are immediately forwarded to Ukrposhta, located in the palace.
