On 24 August 2026, Ukraine will mark the 35th anniversary of the proclamation of Independence. For residents of the Turka community, this is not only a national holiday, but also an opportunity to reflect on the country’s path to statehood, the struggle for freedom and the affirmation of Ukrainian identity.
In the context of the full-scale war, the organisers emphasise the special value of Independence, honour the memory of fallen defenders and express gratitude to the service personnel who are currently defending Ukraine.
A series of ceremonial events is planned in Turka. On 23 August at 09:00, a solemn raising of the State Flag of Ukraine will take place to mark the Day of the National Flag. The following day, 24 August, at 14:00, the main festive events dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence will begin.
All events will be held in the town of Turka on Shevchenko Square. Residents of the community are invited to join the celebration of the national holidays and to support Ukrainian defenders together.
Together – to Victory! Together – for the sake of a free and independent Ukraine!
