A special photo session in ancient Ukrainian costumes was organized for the wives and children of the military who have disappeared. This event was managed by the ‘Living in Waiting’ community and the founder of the ethnic studio ‘Heritage’, Ruslana Horbai.
“Support groups for the relatives of the missing defenders usually see our soldiers’ mothers attending, but their wives, due to lack of time and being overly busy, can’t manage to meet in the community. Therefore, we decided to organize this picturesque photo session for them in ancient embroidered shirts from various regions of Ukraine. Our idea was warmly supported by photographer Yuliia Pashuk and Ruslana Horbai, the founder of the ethnic studio ‘Heritage’,” explained Oksana Pustelnyk, an assistant of the ‘Living in Waiting’ group.
Unique images in Ukrainian costumes, with ancient embroideries, skirts, headscarves, and beads were created for the wives and children of the defenders by Ruslana Horbai.
“Unfortunately, many families today live in constant anticipation. And it was the girls working with the families of our missing heroes who suggested I organize such a photo session for the wives and children. What is the purpose? To see themselves from a different perspective, add some color, brightness, emotions to their lives, meet in the community, recharge, and step out of their comfort zone. Thus, we do everything we can to express our gratitude to our defenders and support their families,” shared Ruslana Horbai.
