In the Lviv Palace of Arts, a significant event for the city took place — the simultaneous decoration of over 1700 pysankas. This massive event drew approximately 1600 participants who collectively worked to set a new national record for Ukraine. More than 30 artists joined in, showcasing traditional techniques and symbolism of Ukrainian pysankarstvo.
The head of the Lviv Regional State Administration, Maksym Kozytskyi, noted: “It is especially valuable to see such events in times of war, as we defend not only our land but also our identity and traditions.”
The event also reminded attendees about the fundraising effort for the treatment of 7-year-old Bohdan Ilkiv from Brody, diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. The chance for recovery lies with the medication “Elevidys,” costing 2.9 million dollars. A further 15 million hryvnias still need to be raised.
