The town of Yavoriv in the Lviv region is marking 650 years since its first written mention. The anniversary is an opportunity to remember the generations of people who, over the centuries, have developed the town, worked here, defended it and passed on to their descendants local traditions, culture and faith.
The address to residents stresses that history has tested Yavoriv many times, and that today the community is going through one of its most difficult periods because of Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine. Special words of gratitude are extended to all the Defenders, women and men, thanks to whom the town continues to live.
The town’s authorities emphasise that they remember every fallen soldier, pray for prisoners of war and those considered missing, and express deep respect for their families. It is underlined that 650 years of history is a legacy that the people of Yavoriv have received from previous generations and must pass on further.
Thanks are expressed to everyone who is shaping Yavoriv today through their daily work, service, volunteering, entrepreneurship, teaching children, prayer and good deeds. The address includes wishes for God’s blessing for the residents of the town, for Yavoriv and for the whole of Ukraine, as well as a plea for protection for Ukrainian soldiers and a just peace.
