On the western section of Ukraine’s border, there is significant congestion at two checkpoints for entry into Ukraine. These are the Krakivets and Shehyni crossings.
At present, at the “Krakivets” checkpoint, 50 cars and 7 buses are waiting to enter Ukraine. At the “Shehyni” checkpoint, the queue consists of 70 cars and 9 buses.
By contrast, the checkpoints Ugryniv, Rava-Ruska, Hrushiv, Smilnytsia and Nyzhankovychi remain less busy for entry into Ukraine.
For departure from Ukraine, a build-up of cars has been recorded at the Shehyni checkpoint — 10 vehicles, as well as at the Nyzhankovychi checkpoint — 20 cars. No queues of cars for departure are observed at other crossings. At the Krakivets checkpoint, 4 buses are waiting to leave Ukraine.
Travellers are advised, where possible, to choose less congested border crossings and to plan journeys for early morning or late evening, when queues are usually shorter. Up-to-date information on the workload of checkpoints can be monitored on the Facebook pages of the Western Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and the 7th Carpathian Border Detachment.
