At the “Shehyni – Medyka” checkpoint on the Polish side, from tomorrow roadworks will begin on the traffic lanes used to process buses entering the Republic of Poland (exiting Ukraine).
According to the Polish side, bus services through “Medyka” will not be suspended; however, the processing and clearance of buses will take place with delays. It is estimated that up to 8 buses can be cleared in around 12 hours.
Due to the roadworks, a reduction in the overall throughput capacity of the bus route is expected at one of the busiest checkpoints on the Ukrainian-Polish border, which handles a significant volume of international passenger traffic by bus and car every day.
Travellers are advised to take this information into account when planning their journeys and, where possible, to choose alternative checkpoints for crossing the state border.
