
In the central part of Lviv, a number of temporary restrictions on traffic and parking are planned until 15 October. The reason is the filming of a historical drama mini-series with the working title “Lviv Story” about the events of 1914–1921. This was reported by the Culture Department of Lviv City Council.
Traffic restrictions will apply according to the following schedule:
- Saturday, 10 October: from 13:00 to 22:30 traffic will be completely closed on O. Novakivskoho Street; from 16:30 to 22:00 there will be intermittent closures on Lystopadovoho Chynu Street and St George’s Square lasting 7–10 minutes during filming, with traffic running as normal in the intervals.
- Sunday, 11 October: from 12:00 to 23:00 there will be intermittent traffic stoppages of up to 7 minutes on Rynok Square while scenes are being filmed. Trams No. 1 and No. 2 will operate on their usual routes.
- Tuesday, 13 October: from 12:00 to 18:00 P. Kovzhuna Street will be closed to traffic from the junction with J. Dudayeva Street to M. Skoryka Street.
- Wednesday, 14 October: from 5:30 to 18:00 traffic will be closed on P. Kovzhuna Street (the section from J. Dudayeva Street to M. Skoryka Street); from 9:00 to 21:00 — on J. Dudayeva Street.
- Thursday, 15 October: from 8:30 to 20:30 the crossroads of L. Martovycha, I. Hryhorovycha and O. Popovycha Streets will be closed; from 9:00 to 18:00 P. Kovzhuna Street will be closed to traffic from the junction with J. Dudayeva Street to M. Skoryka Street.
There will also be parking restrictions for vehicles on a number of streets in the city centre:
- Saturday, 10 October: from 13:00 to 22:30 parking will be prohibited on the section from 7 Lystopadovoho Chynu Street to 6 St George’s Square, as well as on O. Novakivskoho Street (from building No. 2 to No. 10); from 7:40 to 13:30 a parking ban will be in place on M. Kopernyka Street (from building No. 42 to No. 46).
- Tuesday–Wednesday, 13–14 October: from 18:00 on 13 October to 18:00 on 14 October parking will be restricted on P. Kovzhuna Street (from J. Dudayeva Street to M. Skoryka Street), near the building at 5 J. Dudayeva Street, as well as on L. Martovycha Street (from building No. 2 to No. 10), O. Popovycha Street (from building No. 1 to No. 9) and I. Hryhorovycha Street (from building No. 2 to No. 12).
- Thursday, 15 October: from 7:40 to 21:30 a parking ban will be in force on L. Martovycha Street (from building No. 2 to No. 10), O. Popovycha Street (from building No. 1 to No. 9) and I. Hryhorovycha Street (from building No. 2 to No. 12).
Residents and drivers are asked to take the temporary changes to traffic management into account in advance and to plan their journeys bearing in mind the closures and parking bans.
The Culture Department of LCC notes that residents of adjacent buildings will be given additional information about the restrictions through notices posted at the locations. Information leaflets have been prepared and will be distributed by the project team.
As a reminder, filming of the mini-series “Lviv Story” has been taking place in Lviv from 5 to 15 October.
