From Monday, 7 September, the direction of one-way traffic on Skovorody and Karmalyuka streets in Lviv will be changed. The decision was taken to speed up ambulance access to medical facilities and reduce delays in traffic jams.
After the changes, on Karmalyuka St traffic will move from Lychakivska St towards Rufa St, while on Skovorody St it will run in the opposite direction, from Rufa St to Lychakivska St.
Previously, the layout was reversed: on Karmalyuka St vehicles travelled from Rufa St to Lychakivska St, and on Skovorody St from Lychakivska St to Rufa St. The change in traffic organisation was initiated by the Lviv Regional Hospital and approved by the road safety commission.
On Monday, 7 September, the old road signs on these streets will be removed and new ones installed. The Lychakiv District Administration notes that the new traffic direction will come into effect by the end of the same day, so private motorists are advised to take the changes into account in advance when planning their journeys and to pay close attention to the updated signs.
