In Bohdan Khmelnytskyi Park on Truskavetska Street in Drohobych, preparations of the lake and the surrounding area for the summer holiday season are under way. The city council of Drohobych has reported on the improvement works.
Throughout May, employees of the Municipal Management Service utility company cleared the shoreline of shrubs and thickets, and collected and removed branches left after tree pruning. Using specialised machinery, they also tidied the bank and delivered fresh sand to the beach to create a recreation area for local residents and visitors to the community.
In addition to landscaping the area, specialists measured the depth of the lake in the designated bathing zones. For easier access to the water, steps have been installed, and buoys have been placed on the lake to mark the limits allocated for swimming.
At the same time, residents are currently asked not to enter the water, as the bathing season has not yet opened. For safe recreation on the lake, the presence of a lifeguard must be ensured.
The Municipal Management Service utility company has announced a lifeguard vacancy. Candidates are being accepted at: Drohobych, 15 P. Orlyka Street. Once the lifeguard station is fully staffed, the community will receive an additional notification about the official opening of the water recreation season. Until then, improvement works in the park will continue.
