As a result of missile strikes by the Russian Federation, 54 residents of Lviv will receive compensation for damaged windows and doors. The Executive Committee of the Lviv City Council has decided to provide financial assistance amounting to over 1.19 million UAH. The funds will be directed towards the restoration of windows and doors in the affected homes.
Specifically, 18 residents will receive assistance totalling 337,600 UAH for the restoration of 29 windows and 2 doors damaged during the shelling on 5 October 2025 and 24 March 2026. A further 36 residents will receive compensation amounting to 854,300 UAH for the restoration of 75 windows and 1 door following the attack on 24 March 2026.
The head of the city’s social protection department, Tetiana Kolesnyk, noted that after each shelling, it is important to help people return to normal life by ensuring safety and warmth in their homes. Overall, following the strike on 24 March 2026, residents of 53 apartments sought assistance, and the total amount of compensation is nearly 1.2 million UAH.
Financial assistance is paid from the budget of the Lviv City Territorial Community as part of the programme to eliminate the consequences of emergencies caused by the armed aggression of the Russian Federation. In July 2025, Lviv approved a new procedure for providing assistance to residents whose homes were damaged by missile strikes or drone attacks.
