In the Truskavets community, social workers who serve residents of remote villages have received new transport. The charitable foundation “Stabilisation Support Services” has handed over five electric scooters to meet the needs of the Truskavets Territorial Centre for Social Services (provision of social services).
The vehicles have been directed to the community’s outlying settlements – Oriv, Dobrohostiv and Ulichne. Three electric scooters have been allocated to social workers in Oriv, which is an extensive mountain village about 14 km in length. One scooter each has also been sent to the villages of Ulichne and Dobrohostiv. The article notes that in terms of population these are the two largest villages not only in the Truskavets community, but in the entire Drohobych district.
The head of the territorial centre is Olena Pylat. The institution expects that the new electric scooters will enable social workers to reach their clients more quickly, optimise routes and save time on travel.
The process of agreeing and obtaining this assistance, it is noted, took around a year and a half. It involved coordinators of the “Stabilisation Support Services” foundation, the secretary of the Truskavets City Council Nataliia Ponomarenko, as well as the head of the social protection and healthcare department of the Truskavets City Council Vira Ilnytska.
The article stresses that the handover of the scooters is not the first joint project of the Truskavets City Council and the “SSS” charitable foundation. Their cooperation has been ongoing for about three years. In particular, in autumn 2023 the social protection and healthcare department (then still the labour and social protection department) received computer and office equipment from its partners.
