The ‘Palace of Marisia’ Building in Stryi to be Adapted into a Youth Centre

In Stryi, there are plans to restore the ‘Palace of Marisia‘, one of the city’s oldest architectural structures, and transform it into a youth centre. This building, known as an architectural landmark from the early 19th century, was transferred to the community’s communal ownership in 2024 in a state of disrepair.

After the work was carried out by municipal services, the premises were cleared and access to the facade was restricted. A restoration project is being developed, taking into account the transformation of the adjacent territory into a public space. Additionally, there are plans to restore the stone sundial with the date ‘1823’, which existed here in the 1930s.

The project is expected to be completed this year, and next year regional funding will be secured to bring these ideas to life.

Currently, restoration is underway on another architectural landmark — the magistrate’s house on Nezalezhnosti Street, 11. The restoration project of the ‘Palace of Marisia’ is one of the community’s priorities, along with supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine and meeting the vital needs of the population.
