The decision of the Executive Committee of Drohobych City Council amended the previous decisions and approved the fee for the use of parking spaces in designated parking areas and in the city centre.
These are the parking areas on Sholom Aleichem, Mykola Lysenko, Ivan Franko, Danylo Halytskyi, Pylyp Orlyk streets and in the central part of Drohobych, where there are barriers.
The draft decision and the calculation of the cost of parking spaces were presented to the members of the executive committee by Volodymyr Suda, head of the Municipal Management Service.
According to the decision, the cost of 1 hour of parking on the equipped parking lots on Sholom Aleichem, Mykola Lysenko, Ivan Franko, and Danylo Halytskoho streets will be UAH 15. On the car park on Pylyp Orlyka Street, it will cost UAH 10 per 1 hour. And in the central part of the city, where there are barriers, it will be UAH 20 per 1 hour.
Paid parking zones were set up in the city to put things in order with chaotic parking and to relieve the city’s central streets of traffic congestion.
The paid parking areas are equipped with parking machines. And parking on Ivan Franko, Pylyp Orlyk, Danylo Halytskyi and Mykola Lysenko streets is available using the UNIP mobile application.
The Municipal Management Service operates paid car parks in the city. In 2023, the revenue from the parking division totalled UAH 2 million 667 thousand. Of this amount, Municipal Management Company paid UAH 2 million 577 thousand in taxes to the budgets of all levels from the activities of the parking division. Of which: PIT – UAH 132,700 thousand, unified social tax – UAH 100,60 thousand, military duty – UAH 11,100 thousand, parking fee – UAH 1,888 thousand.
In case of non-payment for parking, a fine of 20 times the cost of an hour of parking is imposed (according to Article 152-1 of the Code of Administrative Offences). Fines are issued by the Control and Security Division of the Department of Municipal Economy. Citizens paid UAH 1 million 467 thousand for violating parking rules.
