In the Drohobych community, the main works to repair the local public road of regional importance C140426 Stupnytsia – Lishnia, which is under regional jurisdiction, have been completed. The project was financed in cooperation with regional bodies, with UAH 4 million in subsidies allocated from the community budget.
The progress of the repair was recently inspected by the Mayor Taras Kuchma and the Director of the Municipal Economy Department of the Drohobych City Council, Andrii Pautynka. They reviewed the works already carried out and the condition of the road surface.
The decision to allocate the subsidy was taken by deputies of the Drohobych City Council. As part of the agreements between the Municipal Economy Department of the Drohobych City Council and the Road Management Department of the Lviv Regional State Administration, it was agreed to carry out repairs on this section of the road.
The contractor loosened the old surface, installed a base of crushed stone and sand mix, and laid a new layer of asphalt concrete. Strengthening of the road shoulders is currently being completed at the site.
“There are quite a few sections of road in the community that need upgrading, so the work is being carried out gradually and in line with available funding. We will continue to work on improving road infrastructure and transport links between the community’s settlements. All the roads for which the community has allocated subsidies for repair this year are under regional jurisdiction. The law does not give the city the right to carry out works on them independently, so we contribute to co-financing in order to tackle, together with the region, the problems that matter to our people,” said Taras Kuchma.
The Municipal Economy Department reports that once works on the Stupnytsia – Lishnia road have been completed, they plan to move on to upgrading other problematic sections of the community’s road network. In particular, the next repairs are to be carried out in the direction of the village of Nyzhni Hai.
