Drohobych’s municipal services ensure planned household waste removal.
Containers are emptied according to schedules, yet we increasingly observe littering of adjacent areas with bulky items. Old furniture, damaged appliances, branches, construction waste, car tires, and other personal items are simply left by the roadside. Drohobych City Council
Such actions are violations of public order and a conscious pollution of the urban environment. Despite the available option to dispose of bulky waste legally and civilly, some residents continue to dump it at waste sites, ignoring the repercussions for the environment and the community.
With many waste sites in the city overwhelmed by bulky waste, municipal services, under the community leadership’s directive, will gradually clean up to present a tidy city space during the Christmas and New Year holidays. Equally important is responsible waste management by the residents themselves.
The Utility Company “Komunalnik” emphasizes: collection sites for solid household waste are not intended for bulky waste. A separate service can be ordered for bulky waste removal. This service is a common practice in every European city, as waste management is a matter of culture and awareness.
Bulky waste removal can be ordered through the contact numbers of municipal services:
- at the “Municipal Management Service” utility company by phone: 067 45 16 734.
- at the “Komunalnik” utility company by phone: 067 57 57 062.
Meanwhile, the city continues to strengthen control over bulky waste disposal. Surveillance cameras record illegal dumping of bulky waste. Administrative protocols are drawn up against violators, and fines are imposed in accordance with current legislation.
The city council urges residents to refrain from littering the sites and to treat public order responsibly.
