Drohobych Received the Stradom System from Krakow

In the spring of last year, Drohobych received a license to use the innovative city management system. On March 12, 2025, the decision for permanent and free transfer of the Stradom system license, documentation, and source codes to Drohobych was unanimously supported by the Krakow City Council deputies. This decision was personally initiated by the President of Krakow, Aleksander Mishałski.

The information system is being transferred by Krakow colleagues at the request of Drohobych’s Mayor, Taras Kuchma. The partners not only provide copies of the system but also assist with its implementation. The procedure for transferring the license, copyrights, and all accompanying codes for system use is a lengthy and meticulous process requiring experience exchange between specialists from partner cities.

Drohobych is working on implementing the system, which should continue to collect and analyze key data about the city, facilitating the planning and monitoring of each sector’s development and the community as a whole.

For its successful implementation, a clear structure of management areas with links to the community’s strategic goals and determination of responsible persons for each direction is necessary.

The strategic directions of work forming the basis of data management areas in the system may overlap. However, there are current work and task issues, and there are meaning-related questions – this is what we are investing in long-term planning today, to achieve comprehensive results in the future

– noted during the meeting by Mayor Taras Kuchma.

The Stradom system is a costly development by European colleagues, with a value of 1.6 million euros. It consolidates and analyzes all the most important data about the city, facilitating the planning and management processes for community development. It is an authorial system of Krakow, which has been successfully using it for years. Implementing such a system in Drohobych may, in the future, set an example for other Ukrainian cities.
