“Today, 150,000 Ukrainians from various cities and regions of Ukraine live in Lviv, including those under occupation. Therefore, special attention is paid to Melitopol, Mariupol, Skadovsk, because no one understands the pain when an enemy is sitting in your house and you cannot come there. We all want every piece of our land to be de-occupied as soon as possible. The Lviv community will be happy to help, and it will be an honor for me to make one of the first visits to Melitopol.

We have our big city center to help all Ukrainians. But we also have many locations that unite people from certain areas. This is the large space of Mariupol, now there is the space of Melitopol, and now Skadovsk is opening its space. We help everyone, because we are all relatives. We are interested in maximum integration, so that people bring something interesting from a cultural point of view, and we are ready to share ours,” said Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovy.

This is the second such space of assistance to the people of Melitopol, which was opened in Ukraine. It will operate in Lviv on St. Sichovyh Streltsiv, 8.

“I want to thank the mayor of Lviv, because he is one of the few friends of Melitopol who gave us a helping hand in difficult times. From the first days of the war, it was Lviv that helped us, for which we are grateful from our entire community. The first such center is in Zaporizhzhia, and the second is in Lviv. We are all waiting for de-occupation, and we all understand that Lviv will be the number one de-occupation base on the border of our state. There is a very large number of Melitopol residents on the territory of Lviv today, and we have to worry about them,” said Melitopol Mayor Ivan Fedorov.

The staff of the space are Melitopol citizens who are employees of the educational sphere, medicine, social protection, youth direction, etc.

It should be noted that more than two thousand residents of the city of Melitopol and the Melitopol district are registered in Lviv. All of them have the status of forcibly displaced persons.
