Yavoriv region plans to get rid of ten markers of the Soviet past by the end of June

On May 12, the fifth on-site meeting of regional and district working groups on decommunization was held in Yavorivska RVA.

The meeting was also attended by representatives of territorial communities of the Yavoriv district, on whose territory there are still objects of monumental propaganda of the enemy. During the meeting, problematic issues arising in the process of decommunization and ways to solve them were discussed.

Also today, on the territory of the Mostysk community in the village of Pnikut, a figure of a grieving mother and a part of a stele with a bas-relief image of a soldier of the Soviet army were dismantled.

As reported in the regional working group, yesterday, May 11, the community got rid of another idol of the Russian peace in the village of Zavyazantsi.

“Mostyshchyna is actively working to get rid of all symbols that at least somehow remind of Muscovites and the Soviet government. One more monument – and this community will complete the process of decommunization. Novoyavorivsk and Ivano-Frankivsk communities no longer have Soviet monuments. At the same time, to the general list of objects subject to decommunization, today we added two more monuments of Soviet propaganda, which were not previously inventoried. Therefore, on the territory of the district, 10 more objects are to be dismantled. The deadline in most communities is until the end of May. Only some communities promise to take away all occupation symbols in June of this year,” said the acting deputy. director of the Department of Communications and Internal Policy Yuriy Horun.

Together with the current one, 6 objects were decommunized on the territory of the Mostyska community in Yavoriv Oblast.
