Ihor Tytla Heads the Lviv Justice Department

Ihor Tytla has become the new head of the Lviv Interregional Justice Department.

Today, on September 2, the Minister of Justice of Ukraine, Herman Halushchenko, introduced the new head of the Lviv Interregional Department of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine to the team — Ihor Tytla. He will lead the regional departments in Lutsk and Rivne, with the center in Lviv.

Before his appointment, Ihor Tytla held the position of Deputy Head of the Department of Communal Property of the Lviv Regional Council. He has many years of experience in the system of justice bodies of Lviv region: in 2018–2019 he worked as Deputy Head of the Department — Head of the Control Department for the Execution of Decisions of the Main Territorial Department of Justice in Lviv Region, and in 2020–2023 as the First Deputy Head of the Western Interregional Department of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine (Lviv).

Representatives of regional and city authorities, leadership and deputies of the Lviv Regional Council also came to congratulate the new head. “In times of war, justice bodies are extremely important. Adhering to the law is what makes us, Ukrainians, strong and united. The Lviv Regional Council has always been and will be a partner in joint work with the Department of Justice. I am convinced that Ihor Mykhailovych will be able to ensure continuity in the work of the department, implement new initiatives and modern digital tools, as well as more openness to citizens,” said Acting Head of the Lviv Regional Council Yuriy Kholod.

Over the past five years, several heads have led the Lviv Interregional Justice Department. Until 2021, the structure operated as the Main Territorial Department of Justice in Lviv Region, after which interregional departments were created as part of the Ministry of Justice reform. In 2023–2025, the department was coordinated by the Western Interregional Department headed by Yulia Babyna. Currently, the Lviv Interregional Department has once again been allocated as a separate structure. The work of the Volyn and Rivne regional departments will also be coordinated from Lviv.

The department’s tasks include organizing work in the fields of notary, state registration of civil status acts, property rights on real estate, and business; coordinating the activities of notaries, state and private executors, DRACS bodies; ensuring the proper execution of decisions of courts and other bodies; organizing the system of free legal aid and citizens’ access to legal services; conducting legal education work and informing the population about mechanisms for protecting rights; representing the state’s interests in courts in cases defined by law.
