“The philosophy of care in Lviv was born not in documents, but on the streets, in conversations with people whom society sometimes does not want to see, in the work of social workers who do something very simple and very important every day – they stay close”, states Valentyna Bartoshyk.
Social workers offer the homeless help and warm shelter. **Last winter, a woman near the Victoria Gardens mall refused assistance due to fear and distrust**. Only after prolonged conversations did she agree to go to warmth.
This case became a lesson: help begins not with a service, but with a relationship between people.
