On December 31, during a session of the Lviv City Council, Mayor Andriy Sadovyi announced a ₴100 million contribution from the city budget to the joint project between the Lviv community and the “Come Back Alive” charity foundation. This amount represents half of the total fundraising goal to support four combat brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
How Will the Funds Be Used?
The allocated funds will be used to purchase essential equipment for the military, including:
- vehicles,
- drones,
- electronic warfare systems (EWS),
- mortars, grenade launchers, and other equipment.
Brigades Receiving Support:
- 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo
- 80th Separate Air Assault Brigade
- 68th Separate Jaeger Brigade named after Oleksa Dovbush
- 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade
These units are currently defending Ukraine on the front lines.
Total Military Support from Lviv in 2024
According to Mayor Sadovyi, the Lviv community has allocated a total of ₴1.1 billion to support the Ukrainian military in 2024, funded by the city’s taxpayers.
