In Lviv, more than UAH 15 million has been allocated to support residents whose homes were damaged as a result of Russian attacks on 24 March and 30 July 2026. The corresponding decision was adopted by the executive committee of Lviv City Council.
In particular, the provision of financial assistance has been approved to compensate for the costs of restoring damaged windows and doors. According to the city’s Social Protection Department, this time it concerns 35 applications from residents, totalling almost UAH 745,000.
In total, following the attack on 24 March 2026, the amount of assistance for Lviv residents comes to almost UAH 2.9 million, and after the strike on 30 July 2026 it is around UAH 12.4 million. The funds are directed towards partial reimbursement of the cost of windows, doors and other elements of housing damaged by blast waves, shrapnel or flooding after the shelling.
It should be recalled that in summer 2025, Lviv approved an updated Procedure for providing assistance to residents whose homes were damaged by missile strikes or drone attacks. The document provides for both partial compensation for individual structures (windows, doors) and reimbursement of repair costs for flats and roofs in private houses. An application for funding must be submitted no later than 6 months after the shelling.
At the end of July 2026, Lviv also increased the maximum amounts of such assistance. Residents can now receive up to UAH 20,000 for restoring damaged entrance doors and up to UAH 15,000 for each damaged window, glazing unit, block or structure. Previously, the maximum amounts were UAH 8,000 per door and UAH 12,000 per window.
