Lviv has introduced new rules for illuminated advertisements and signs.
The city has implemented additional requirements for the arrangement of illuminated advertisements and signs to reduce light pollution and save electricity. Exceptions are made for objects in the street-road network and critical infrastructure. These measures are based on the documents of the Lviv Region Defense Council from 2022 regarding energy saving, and the control will be carried out by the police.
The powers of the utility company “Administrative and Technical Management” and district administrations have been detailed for the dismantling of unauthorized elements on facades. This concerns electronic boards, monitors, screens, running lines, and other technical means. “This will help better regulate the issue of signs and advertising in Lviv,” said the director of the Department of Natural Resources Taras Kubai.
To obtain permission, entrepreneurs must apply to the Department of Architecture of the Lviv City Council.
