Lviv Region Discussed Implementation of National Memory Strategy

On January 30, a meeting with representatives of the socio-cultural societies of the Lviv region took place in the Lviv Regional State Administration.

The key issue was commemorating notable Ukrainians and marking memorable dates abroad in 2026. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Department of Communications and Internal Policy of the Lviv Regional State Administration, the Standing Committee on Culture, Information Policy, and Promotion of the Lviv Regional Council, as well as the Association of Societies ‘Zakersonia’.

Organizational issues regarding the organization of commemorative events in Poland were discussed, particularly involving the public and youth. “As is known, the Lviv region has approved the National Memory Strategy. Currently, the development of an action plan for its implementation is underway, and a significant place in it will be those events that will talk about honoring Ukrainians, and events of our state-building abroad,” said Yura Gorun, Director of the Department of Communications and Internal Policy of the Lviv Regional State Administration.

Going forward, representatives of other structures and departments will be involved in these meetings for better coordination of planned events.
