
In the Lviv region, control over drug prices has been strengthened to avoid unjustified price increases for medications.
At the behest of the Prime Minister of Ukraine, specialists from the Main Department of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection in the Lviv region have intensified monitoring of prices for medicinal products and medical devices. **The main task** is to prevent unjustified increases in the cost of vital medicines.
During scheduled and unscheduled inspections, violations of state pricing discipline were found in 100% of the businesses checked. *It was established that entrepreneurs applied trade mark-ups ranging from 27% to 59%, whereas the maximum allowed level by law is from 10% to 35%*.
As a result of the inspections, sanctions were applied to the violators: fines totaling 107.7 thousand UAH were imposed, 4 officials were held administratively liable, and orders were issued to adjust prices to comply with the requirements of the CMU Resolution No. 955. Control over price stability in the pharmaceutical market of the region continues.
