In 2025, the Lviv region allocated nearly half of its defense funding to local military units.
Under the ‘Safe Lviv Region’ program, 698 million UAH were allocated to support the defense sector. Of these, 298 million UAH, accounting for 48%, were received by military formations stationed in the region.
Throughout the year, 104 military formations were funded, including units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, the State Border Guard Service, and the State Special Transport Service. The funds were directed towards the purchase of drones, equipment, electronic warfare systems, communication means, and equipment for mobile fire teams.
The program also financed civil protection measures, such as alert systems, fire and rescue units, shelters, and a regional reserve.
For 2026, 450.4 million UAH is allocated, of which 417.9 million UAH are planned to support the Defense Forces. Deputies also supported the decision to continue directing 50% of funds to units stationed in Lviv region and to increase funding for drones.
