Lviv Commission Restricts Parking for Pedestrian Safety

In Lviv, the city commission on road safety has decided to implement new parking regulations aimed at enhancing pedestrian safety. The changes concern several streets in the city, where new pedestrian crossings will be established and parking will be restricted.

On Velychkovskoho Street, a pedestrian crossing will be set up to provide a safe route for schoolchildren and other pedestrians. On Holovatogo Street, traffic calming measures will be installed and markings updated to prevent dangerous parking near educational institutions.

Parking will be prohibited on the odd-numbered side of Olena Stepanivna Street, where drivers often block pavements. Similar measures will be introduced on Dashkevych Street and Yuriy Ruf Street, where appropriate road signs will be installed.

On Ryashivska Street, a space for public transport layover will be arranged to facilitate bus movement. Restrictive bollards will be installed on General Chuprynka Street to prevent tram delays caused by parking on pavements.

New pedestrian crossings will also appear on Sykhivska Street and A. Kos-Anatolsky Street, enhancing pedestrian safety. All decisions are planned to be implemented by 31 May this year.
