The community of Lviv continues to support the Ukrainian army. This time, thanks to the city’s taxes, the mayor’s office purchased and handed over to the military a three-board RQ-35 Heidrun unmanned aerial reconnaissance system worth UAH 15.9 million.
The complex consists of one main and two replaceable (spare) UAVs. This configuration will ensure uninterrupted reconnaissance work even in case of loss of a part of the complex. Today, the equipment was handed over to the defense.
By the way, the Danish Heidrun drone has already shown its effectiveness in reconnaissance and surveillance at low altitudes. It has high resistance to enemy electronic warfare, mobility and quick preparation for launch, as well as low visibility.
In January-February 2024, Lviv City Hall supported the army with over UAH 119 million. The vehicles and equipment were purchased at the request of the military as part of a citywide program to support the defenders. The budget of the Lviv City Council for 2024 provides UAH 1 billion for the purchase of equipment and supplies for the Armed Forces of Ukraine alone.
