Compensation to be Paid to Residents of Damaged Building in Lviv

For the residents of Lviv whose homes on Soborna Square, 3 were damaged as a result of shelling, the city will provide compensation for renting temporary accommodation. The building is an architectural landmark that was damaged during the attack on 24 March 2026. Part of the building has already been restored, and residents have returned to 7 apartments. However, 4 apartments still require major repairs.

Residents of these apartments will receive financial assistance from the city. Specifically, for a three-room apartment, 15,000 UAH per month is allocated, while each of the three two-room apartments will receive 12,000 UAH. The total monthly payout will amount to 51,000 UAH.

The restoration of the damaged part of the building began with the dismantling of hazardous elements, such as emergency roof structures and the damaged chimney. For these works, 1.6 million UAH has been allocated from the city’s budget reserve fund.

The Halytsky District Administration is working on developing a restoration project and obtaining permits to commence the main works. It should be noted that on 24 March, Lviv experienced a large-scale drone attack. Damage was inflicted on the buildings at Soborna Sq., 3, and Chervonoi Kalyny Avenue, 103. A total of 1.7 million UAH has already been allocated from the city’s budget for the restoration of windows and doors.
