Residents are invited to participate in the creation of the Lviv Agglomeration Strategy. Work on the document is still ongoing. Therefore, residents of Lviv and 17 nearby communities, which may be part of the potential Lviv agglomeration, can take an active part in this work. People, in particular, can propose ideas for joint projects that will be implemented by two or more communities.
“All proposed proposals will be carefully considered for further funding and possible use in the Strategy project.
Currently, there are already successful examples when communities jointly maintain medical or social institutions, jointly purchase equipment for the provision of communal services, and implement tourist projects. There may be more such examples that work primarily to improve the lives of residents. Actually, agglomeration is needed for this. Since such a form of cooperation of independent communities as an agglomeration primarily unites efforts to solve common problems. And it also gives an opportunity to use the resource for the development of communities”, – emphasizes the department of urban agglomeration of the LMR.
Interested residents can propose their own ideas for such projects by filling out the appropriate form. This can be done until July 1 of this year.
“For convenience, offers can be anonymous. If a person wants to be contacted to clarify the details, they should indicate their coordinates,” added the department of the urban agglomeration of the LMR.
The strategy is being developed in accordance with the order of the Lviv OVA and with the support of the Council of Europe.
We will remind, according to the sociological research data, 88% of the residents of the Lviv agglomeration support cooperation between Lviv and neighboring communities. And 75% of residents of neighboring communities consider themselves residents of Greater Lviv.
As the Deputy Mayor of Lviv for Urban Development Lyubomyr Zubach previously noted, the Lviv agglomeration may become the first to be legalized in Ukraine.
