Bridge in Velyki Mosty passes load test after major reconstruction

A renovated bridge over the Rata River on the R-15 highway in Velyki Mosty, Lviv region, has successfully passed strength and quality tests following its complete reconstruction. The inspection confirmed that the structure meets current state construction standards and is fully ready for use.

The examination was conducted together with specialists from the State Enterprise “National Institute for Infrastructure Development.” The quality of the rebuilt structure was rated as satisfactory.

🔍 During the testing process:

  • Two trucks, each weighing 40 tons, were driven onto different sections of the bridge;

  • The vehicles stopped at designated control points and accelerated to specific speeds;

  • Sensors recorded the bridge’s response to both static and dynamic loads.

Bridge background:

  • Total length: 62 meters;

  • Originally constructed in 1960;

  • Structural deterioration occurred due to prolonged use and heavy load;

  • A complete demolition and rebuild were carried out;

  • The major renovation was completed in 2024.

The R-15 highway plays a strategic role in the region — it links the Lviv and Volyn regions and serves as a tourist route to popular destinations such as the Shatsky Lakes and the architectural landmark Zhovkva Castle in Lviv region.
