Lviv region to renovate 18 km border road and modernize Lviv railway station with €11 million from EU

Lviv region continues to attract EU funding to boost its infrastructure. Within the Interreg NEXT “Poland–Ukraine 2021–2027” Program, the region will implement two major projects with a combined budget of nearly €11 million. The plans were discussed during a training for project managers organized by the Lviv Regional Administration in collaboration with the program’s representation in Lviv.

📌 Key projects planned for 2026–2028:

  1. Major repair of the O141002 Nahirne–Dobromyl road
    – Two segments of the road totaling over 18 km will be renovated, improving access to the Polish border.
  2. Reconstruction of Lviv railway station
    – In partnership with Ukrainian Railways (Ukrzaliznytsia), the station will undergo full modernization.
    – The focus is on universal accessibility, making the station more convenient for all passengers, especially people with disabilities.

Deputy Head of the Lviv Regional State Administration Khrystyna Zamula emphasized that the Interreg NEXT Program supports critical sectors — from transport and ecology to public services — and provides valuable EU assistance to local communities. This cooperation enhances the ability of regional teams to implement impactful projects.

📌 Lviv region leads in international cooperation

As of 2026, 28 international cooperation projects are underway in the region in fields such as healthcare, environmental protection, infrastructure, and border management — the highest number among all program participants.
