This bridge was damaged during a flood in July back in 2008.
In the region, emergency recovery works on the construction of a bridge across the Dniester River on the Monastyrets-Polyana highway have begun. The bridge is located in the village Monastyrets, Komarniv territorial community.
This bridge was damaged during a flood in July back in 2008. Today, July 5, the progress of the works was inspected by the deputy head of the Lviv OVA Yuriy Buchko.
“Back in 2008, the liquidation of the consequences of the natural disaster began, but due to a lack of funding, the work was suspended. As a result, the residents of the nearby villages had to use an old, dilapidated wooden bridge, which could not provide safety and comfort for the residents. Lviv OVA understands the needs of residents and the importance of carrying out repair work on the mentioned bridge, and therefore allocated the necessary funds for this purpose in 2023, namely 15 million hryvnias,” Yuriy Buchko noted.
The Komarni community, with the assistance of the Department of Road Management of the Lviv Oblast, made changes to the design and estimate documentation and signed a contract with the subcontractor organization “Trans-Service” for the performance of works.
In the course of the construction works, welding and installation of metal beams of the span structure, installation of a monolithic reinforced concrete slab, installation of an asphalt concrete coating, as well as a barrier and guardrail were provided.
“Bridge reconstruction is a key element of the region’s infrastructure, therefore the regional administration pays great attention to the planning and allocation of funds for bridge repair, which is at least 10% of the total amount of funding that goes to road repair. The allocation of financial resources for carrying out repair works confirms the priorities of OVA in ensuring safety, development and improvement of the infrastructure of the Lviv region”, – stressed Yuriy Buchko.
