A regular meeting of the regional commission on technogenic and environmental safety and emergencies was held at the Lviv Regional Military Administration, chaired by First Deputy Head of the Regional Administration Andrii Hodyk. The participants discussed the region’s readiness to respond to possible emergencies under martial law and measures to prevent the consequences of low water levels and ensure stable water supply.
The key topic was the updating of planning documents for emergency response and the clarification of civil protection forces and assets within the territorial subsystems of the Unified State Civil Protection System. This concerns the need for clear accounting of equipment, personnel and material reserves that may be deployed by communities in the event of emergencies.
Andrii Hodyk stressed the importance of the commission on technogenic and environmental safety and emergencies working promptly, including online and at any time of day, as well as the need to have complete information on the resources available in the communities.
«We must clearly specify which forces, equipment and material reserves are available in the communities and can be used to respond to potential emergencies,» said Andrii Hodyk.
According to the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Lviv region, 14 communities in Lviv district have still not developed the required emergency response plans. These are the Zymnovodivska, Solonkivska, Dobrosynsko-Maherivska, Novoiarychivska, Zhovkivska, Kulykivska, Bibrska, Peremyshlianska, Kamianka-Buzka, Zhovtanetska, Hlynianska, Horodotska, Komarnivska and Velykoliubinska communities.
The meeting also highlighted the need to strengthen control over the state of water resources and to implement measures aimed at preventing water shortages and ensuring reliable water supply to the settlements of Lviv region.
