Three traffic lanes to be created on Shevchenka Street in Lviv towards Riasne

On Shevchenka Street in Lviv, on the stretch from building No. 358 (the “Silpo” shop) to the turn onto Bryukhovytska Street, road resurfacing has begun. The works are being carried out in the direction of the Riasne residential district and are scheduled to be completed by 15 July.

After the repairs, this section will have three lanes for traffic: two towards the centre of Lviv and one towards the Riasne residential district.

Currently, Shevchenka Street has two traffic lanes — one in each direction. To avoid closing the road completely, the repairs are being carried out lane by lane: one lane is under construction, while the other has reversible traffic in place for all types of vehicles.

According to the Director of the Housing and Infrastructure Department of LMR, Oksana Pryhoda, the lane in the direction of entry to the city centre is being milled first. It will receive the first layer of asphalt, the kerbs will be replaced, and all manholes and storm drains will be raised. After that, similar works will be carried out on the second lane.

The issue of laying the top layer of asphalt is still being worked through, in order to organise the works with minimal inconvenience for public and private transport. The Housing and Infrastructure Department of LMR is asking drivers to take these changes into account when planning routes if they need to travel along Shevchenka Street towards the Riasne residential district.
