In the village of Zarudtsi, the phased repair of Franka Street continues. For a long time it remained a dirt road and was in poor condition. A further stage of the works has recently been completed: at the entrance to the settlement a roundabout has been constructed and approximately one kilometre of road has been resurfaced with asphalt.
According to the Office for Agglomeration and Community Development, this year a section of Franka Street has been repaired as part of the routine road maintenance programme within the Lviv community. The asphalt surface is being laid on a base prepared last year under a special programme for the maintenance and repair of local public dirt roads.
Last year, on this section, the road surface was levelled, topped with a crushed stone and sand mixture, compacted with self-propelled rollers and the soil stabilised so that the new surface would last longer. Before the works began, the road had numerous potholes, which made it difficult for city buses to pass, in particular the ‘Shkolyaryk’ school bus that takes children to school.
The repair of Franka Street in Zarudtsi will continue. The works are being carried out in stages, as funding allows and in line with the road infrastructure development programmes of the Lviv community.
