On February 15, the team from KP ‘Drohobychvodokanal’ conducted repairs on a main cast iron water pipeline with a diameter of 630 mm near the new road to Truskavets. Water supply restoration began at 12:00 following the discovery of a pipeline fracture caused by soil movement and the load of an earthen embankment.
- The fracture was caused by soil freezing and thawing.
- An additional load is created by the earthen embankment with a height of 6-8 m.
Previous appeals by KP ‘Drohobychvodokanal’ to Lvivavtodor and the Lviv Regional State Administration regarding project completion went unanswered. Currently, the relocation of pipelines into protective cases has not been executed. The damage occurred at a distance of 20-25 m from the road embankment, and another embankment was created on a private plot, partially covering the pipelines. Only with specialized equipment was it possible to eliminate the accident on one of them.
The management of Drohobych Vodokanal again appeals to the Lviv Regional State Administration and the leadership of the Truskavets OTG for a resolution to the problem, as the next accident under the road might leave consumers without water for an indefinite period.
