Novyi Rozdil City Council allocates additional funds for the military, education and sport

At the 85th session of Novyi Rozdil City Council, councillors adopted a number of decisions on additional support for the military, the education sector, sport and the development of the community’s infrastructure.

For defence needs and social support for service personnel, a further UAH 1 million has been allocated to the national resistance programme. Funding has also been increased for social programmes that provide assistance to military personnel and civilians for medical treatment and other payments.

The recuperation programme for service personnel has been expanded. The Social Protection Department has already organised holidays for 100 service personnel and their family members, and following the new decision a further 33 people will be able to go on holiday. Separate provision has been made to increase funding in the programme that finances joint events and trips for the families of fallen and missing service personnel, as well as for the service personnel themselves.

In education, the City Council has allocated resources to increase the salaries of preschool and out-of-school education staff from October. The list also includes coaches from the sports school who, despite not being mentioned in the relevant government resolution, will also receive higher pay.

A decision has been taken to install new fire alarm systems in the city’s third and fourth schools. The phased replacement of windows in educational institutions continues: funds have been allocated for Novyi Rozdil Lyceum named after V. Trush, and for the preschools ‘Malyatko’, ‘Sonechko’ and ‘Berizka’. Separate funding has been earmarked for repairs to smoke ventilation ducts at the ‘Holubok’ preschool and for other necessary maintenance work in the institutions.

In sport, councillors backed the trip by FC ‘Novyi Rozdil’ to Zhytomyr for their Ukrainian Cup round of 16 match, where the team is due to face local side ‘Polissia’.

The session also considered land issues. Although there were not many of them, the City Council stresses that these decisions are important for business development and for boosting the community budget.

Among the works already completed, which were reported during the meeting, is the refurbishment of the People’s House in the settlement of Rozdil. Waterproofing has been carried out and a protective apron has been installed around the building, the projection room (roof, window and door) has been repaired, the dance hall has been refurbished and additional sound equipment has been purchased so that the venue can continue to host cultural events.
