Updated ranking of Lviv region communities with a focus on security and defence

A comprehensive ranking of territorial communities in the Lviv region has been updated, with the main focus on the security sector and defence expenditure. This was announced by the head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Maksym Kozytskyi.

The top ten overall leaders in the region are the Pidberiztsi, Lviv, Pustomyty, Novyi Rozdil, Novyi Yarychiv, Solonka, Sokilnyky, Zymna Voda, Dobrotvir and Stryi communities.

In the purely security-related block, which is based on six criteria, the best results were demonstrated by the Pidberiztsi, Sokilnyky, Zymna Voda, Rozvadiv and Kulykiv communities.

In the first four months of 2026, communities in the region allocated 696.6 million hryvnias to support the military and defence measures. The leaders in terms of the share of expenditure on the army were the Sokilnyky, Morshyn and Bibrka communities.

In education, 1,046 out of 1,067 schools and 831 out of 850 nursery schools are equipped with shelters. At the same time, in a number of communities, including Borynia and Slavske, the issue of arranging shelters remains unresolved.

The analysis also revealed problem areas. The average level of population coverage by warning systems across the region is 71%, with the lowest figures recorded in the Komarno, Pidkamin and Busk communities. In addition, 366 settlements are still beyond the standard response time for fire brigades, and a critical situation with the fire safety index is observed in the Kozova and Novyi Kalyniv communities.

«This ranking makes it possible to see how communities are working on key areas of development and security. For local authorities, it is a tool for analysing and planning further decisions. For residents, it is an opportunity to better understand processes in their community and to monitor changes that affect quality of life», emphasised Maksym Kozytskyi.

The Lviv Regional Military Administration noted that detailed indicators for each community are available for review online.
