Prosecutors from the Zolochiv District Prosecutor’s Office have filed an indictment against the director of a contractor company for overpricing a boiler for a communal facility.
In 2021, an agreement was signed between the social services center in the settlement of Pidkamin and the company for the sale and purchase. The contractor committed to deliver a solid fuel boiler. The director of the company indicated in the documents that the equipment cost amounted to almost 380,000 UAH, whereas the market price was around 145,000 UAH.
To conceal the overpricing, false information about installation works, which were not actually performed, was added to the invoice. As a result, the company unjustifiably received more than 230,000 UAH of budget funds.
The director is accused of misappropriation of property and official forgery. The prosecution has filed a civil lawsuit for the reimbursement of the overpriced amount. The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by Police Department No. 1 of the Zolochiv District Police Department.
