Today, a meeting was held at the Sheptytska City Council where the community’s new officer-rescuers were introduced.
The project “Community Officer-Rescuer” is a pilot initiative, with the Sheptytska community being among the first in the Lviv region. An officer-rescuer is a DSNS specialist who works permanently in the community and coordinates actions during emergencies.
“A community officer-rescuer embodies safety on the ground. These are people who maintain constant communication with the community leadership and services, organize interaction in case of emergencies, and help respond effectively to them”, said Lyubomyr Pasichnyk.
The project aims to create a resilient local safety system, enhance the population’s readiness for actions during emergencies, and prevent their occurrence.
