The equipment was purchased within the framework of co-financing from the regional program “Safe Lviv Region”.
In 2023, it was possible to purchase modern warning devices with the funds of the regional and local budgets of the Lviv region. Thus, more than 300 electronic sirens and loudspeaker systems were installed in the settlements of 57 communities of the region.
Roughly 35 million hryvnias were allocated for this as part of co-financing from the regional program “Safe Lviv Region”.
In addition, replacement of defective equipment is ongoing in the region in a short period of time and despite the weather conditions. In particular, these days, the electromechanical siren installed at building 29 on Mazepa Street in Lviv was restored, which will now notify citizens of an air threat.
“This work was carried out by the employees of the company that provides operational and technical maintenance of local alarm systems, as representatives of a responsible business, on a volunteer basis at their own expense. We appeal to the residents of the region and remind them of the need to respond to the warnings of the authorities about the danger, not to ignore the signals of civil protection”, said the director of the department for civil protection Ihor Tuz
By the way, the regional budget for 2024 provided funds for the support of the security and defense forces and measures related to the resistance to the armed aggression of the country. 400 million hryvnias have been planned for the implementation of the comprehensive program “Safe Lviv Region”.
