During the meeting of the Working Group, the participants discussed the community’s strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats to development.
Today, April 12, a meeting of the Working Group on the development of the Development Strategy until 2027 of the Sambir Territorial Community was held with the participation of the team of the Department of Economic Policy of Lviv Regional Government. Together with managers, representatives of business and the public, they discussed the strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats of development
of the Sambir community, as well as the impact of the war on the community.
“Among the strengths of the Sambir community, first of all, its good logistics and transit potential should be singled out due to its 50-kilometer accessibility to 3 automobile checkpoints (“Krostsenko-Smilnytsia”, “Nyzhankovychi-Malhovice”, “Sheghini-Medyka”) and 2 railway ( “Khyriv-Krostsenko”, “Nyzhankovychy-Malhovice” – track of the European standard 1435 mm), the presence of the highway H-13 Lviv-Sambir-Uzhgorod, which leads to the state border with Hungary”, – said the deputy director of the department of economic policy of the Lviv OVA Vadim Snuffbox
Also, the participants named the developed infrastructure of the district center, the presence of a cluster hospital, positive cases of integration of IDPs, many implemented projects of the involved MTD and significant experience of international cooperation, tourist attraction, architectural and religious heritage as strengths of the community.
Among the weaknesses and problems of the community, the participants noted the lack of treatment facilities, a loaded solid waste landfill and the absence of a waste processing process, a master plan, and the constricted borders of the community, which limit its development.
“This is only the beginning of the hard work of forming the Community Strategy. The involvement of the expert community and the analysis of community development trends are yet to come, which will allow Sambor to form its own strategic vision and prepare a package of local development projects,” added Vadym Tabakera.
