In September-November 2025, an autumn campaign for the immunization of wild carnivorous animals against rabies will take place in the community’s territory.
The vaccination will cover 90 km² of the Lviv community. Andriy Yaremko emphasizes that the vaccine-bait is safe for domestic and household animals. It looks like small briquettes the size of a matchbox, containing a jelly-like capsule with the rabies virus antigen inside.
Immunity to rabies develops in animals 21 days after consuming the vaccine and lasts for at least 1 year. Such measures will provide stable immunity in wild animals, including foxes, and improve the epizootic situation in the community.
We ask residents to understand these measures. If you find a briquette with the vaccine, do not pick it up, destroy it, or move it elsewhere, but leave it for the animals.
