
In the village of Domazhyr, the replacement of the main water pipeline has commenced, following last year’s incident. Lvivvodokanal Municipal Enterprise has already laid 280 metres of new polyethylene pipes with a diameter of 560 mm. The works are funded by the budget of the Lviv Municipal Territorial Community.
On site, the old cast iron pipes are being replaced with new black polyethylene ones. Construction machinery, including a crane and an excavator, is in operation nearby. Tenders for the procurement of materials were conducted before the commencement of the works.
Lvivvodokanal Municipal Enterprise manages 2,700 km of water supply and 925 km of sewage networks, 80% of which require replacement. Last year, the enterprise replaced 32,795 metres of water supply networks, reducing the number of leaks by 13%.
