In Drohobych, IDP Families Received New Housing

In Drohobych, another 12 families of internally displaced persons (IDP) received keys to new homes.

On May 27, in the city of Kotermak on Pylyp Orlyk Street, a modular framework house for displaced persons was ceremoniously opened and blessed. This house became the second at this location and the fourth in the community welcoming people forced by war to leave their homes. Among the new residents are large families, families of military personnel, and families of fallen Heroes of Ukraine.

“Building full-fledged homes for people whom the war has deprived of their dwellings and relatives has become an acute necessity,” said the city mayor Taras Kuchma.

The project was implemented through the cooperation of local authorities with international funds and the Lviv Regional Military Administration. Financial support was provided by the MoveUkraine fund, UNHCR Ukraine, and the International Charity Health Foundation “Carpathian Region”.

The key moment of the event was the handing over of keys to the residents of the new housing. Representatives of the authorities, charitable organizations, and construction companies were present. John Shmorgun expressed gratitude for supporting IDPs in creating conditions for integration into the community.
