In Dublyany, a major refurbishment has begun on the shelter in the Community Office building, which in the event of an air raid alert will be used by children from the nursery, the school of arts, as well as staff of the Administrative Services Centre, office units, tenants and police officers.
The works started at the end of last week. They are being carried out by LKP «Rembud» on commission from the Office for Agglomeration and Community Development.
According to the company, a modern supply and exhaust ventilation system is currently being installed in the basement to ensure a stable indoor climate. At the same time, the electrical networks are being put in order and partially upgraded.
Other planned works include the fabrication of external protective canopies over the entrances, the installation of concrete stairs down to the basement as the main access, the laying of a concrete screed floor, cleaning the walls of old plaster followed by treatment with an anti-fungal primer, and the partial installation of new power lines.
To enhance safety in the shelter, fire-resistant entrance doors will be installed. According to LKP «Rembud», all the necessary equipment and materials for the planned works have already been ordered in line with the project documentation.
