In Drohobych, route buses operating on city lines have been equipped with continuous CCTV systems. This has been done in compliance with a decision of the executive committee of Drohobych City Council.
According to Mykhailo Pastushak, director of Sigma LLC, cameras have been installed in all vehicles providing passenger transport on city routes, as well as on part of the suburban routes within the community.
The carrier says the video surveillance systems are intended to improve the safety of passengers and drivers and to strengthen monitoring of the quality of transport services.
Video recording is expected to help respond promptly to potential conflicts, breaches of public order or transport regulations, and to ensure a more objective consideration of citizens’ enquiries and complaints.
The city council emphasises that the introduction of video monitoring is seen as another step towards raising service standards and creating comfortable and safe conditions for using public transport in Drohobych.
